A huge thank you to Geoffrey Goodman who looked after us when we visited Singers Hill Synagogue in Birmingham. This was the culmination of our work and it was great to have the chance to look around and see everything in action. All the children were very well behaved and they demonstrated some good knowledge when asked some pretty tricky questions.
Throughout 2018 we are running a book club, for year 6 pupils, that will take place at Hanley High School involving the schools in the MAT. It is a great opportunity to talk about different books, but also a chance to meet with other year 6 pupils as well as spending sometime at the high school in readiness for the next academic year. Our whole school topic is all about charity and kindness and is called, ‘Money makes the world go round?’ The aim of this topic is to challenge the children’s thinking of the value of money and discuss how important it really is. Maths will play an integral part with plenty of calculations and investigations too. The grand finale, beginning the week of the 29th January, will
42 children, yes an incredible 42 children had their poetry selected to be published in an anthology. This is a nationwide competition, and the children’s work will be published alongside others from Worcestershire and Warwickshire. A huge congratulations to everyone who entered.
