Our whole school topic is all about charity and kindness and is called, ‘Money makes the world go round?’ The aim of this topic is to challenge the children’s thinking of the value of money and discuss how important it really is. Maths will play an integral part with plenty of calculations and investigations too. The grand finale, beginning the week of the 29th January, will involve each class selling goods or raising money for their chosen charity. Each class will do something different and they will inform you of all the details in their weekly letters. It would be great if the children had the opportunity to make a difference at home; whether donating items or doing jobs for others. We would love to hear about these in school too. Here’s to an action packed few weeks.
During assembly these children were challenged to carry out a random act of kindness. They chose from a list and then had the day to complete the task. This involved potentially making a drink for a teacher, going to another class and handing out letters, offering your services in the office and even making the headteacher a cup of coffee.
